What makes yoga more than just exercise is the fundamental connection it utilises between body, breath and mind. The three are interlinked, anything that influences one influences the other two. This connection means we can use our breath to calm our mind and release tension in our bodies. Take a moment to sit and notice how and where in the body you feel your breathing. Start to see the out breath as a release, taking tension away with it. Can you gradually slow and lengthen the out breath a little without straining? Have a few breaths like this. How do you feel now?
